Terry Baker won the Heisman Trophy in 1962 at The University of Oregon and was a first round draft choice by the Los Angeles Rams in 1963. He was a better runner than passer, and only started one game in his three years in the NFL.

Jim Del Gaizo played with three different teams and started five games in 1972-1974.

Dennis Morrison started two games for the San Francisco 49ers in 1974.

David Humm spent ten years in the NFL (1975-1984) but only started one game. His first four years were spent in Oakland as a backup to lefthander Ken Stabler.

Erik Wilhelm spent six years with the Cincinnati Bengals (1989-1996) but only started one game. He was drafted in the third round to be a backup to lefthander Boomer Esiason.

Jeff Carlson started one game with Tampa Bay in 1991 and two games with New England in 1992.

Todd Marinovich was a first round draft choice by the Oakland Raiders in 1991 out of University of Southern California. He started eight games for the Raiders in 1991-1992.

Will Furrer started one game with the Chicago Bears in 1992 and one with the Houston Oilers in 1995.

Doug Nussmeier started two games with the New Orleans Saints in 1996-1997.

Steve Matthews started one game with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1997, while serving as a backup for lefthander Mark Brunell.

Tony Graziano started five games for the Atlanta Falcons from 1997-1999.

Matt Lytle started one game with the Carolina Panthers in 2001.

Brock Huard started four games with the Seattle Seahawks in 2000.

Dave Ragone started two games for the Houston Texans in 2003.

Jared Lorenzen was with the New York Giants in 2006-2007, but threw only eight passes and did not start any games.

Pat White was with the Miami Dolphins in 2009 but did not start any games.

Tyler Palko started four games with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011.

Sean Canfield was with the New Orleans Saints in 2010-2011 but did not start any games.

Kellen Moore started two games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2015, after three years as a “non-playing” backup for Detroit for the three prior years.

We believe that these men should have been given more of an opportunity to play more and play better, and if they had, there would have been many more names on this list.

We also believe that we can provide more opportunities and better instruction so there will be more Lefthanded Quarterbacks in the NFL to add to this list.
